Marcie Telander, M.A, LPC, Registered Expressive Arts Therapist, Eco-Psychology and Transpersonal therapist, ritualist and Earth Honoring Arts advocate. Marcie is an Integrative Medicine Woman and Weaver of Intuitive Transformational Awareness from a lineage of Northern European Spiritual Tradition. She offers many kinds of in-person and Skype, Zoom, phone individual and online community Virtual Retreats. Some of these include "Valkyries and Valiant Women: Reclaiming Our Spiritual and Spirited Ancestral European Native Spirit Roots" and "Glamoury: The Ancient Traiditon of Bringing your Beautiful Goddess Spirit Forth into Your Powerful Practical LIfe" and "Reclaiming the Green Man and True Gentle Man for the 21st Century."She is a poet, award-winning writer, radio and film documentarian, journalist and Expressive Community Arts Ritual Therapist and has traveled and presented programs throughout the US, Canada, Mexico and Europe assisting a wide range of organizations, institutions, towns and cities in creating Ritual to Celebrate and honor Spirit of Place.
For over 50 years Marcie has woven together the powerful Wisdom Intuition of various forms of ancient, ancestral healing traditions and cutting-edge contemporary knowledge through personal, group, collective and all-community rituals, Transformational Mentorship counseling and Creative Life Change rites of passage. Some of the many programs, apprenticeships and Intuitive Mentorship programs she offers include the ancient European and Northern Tradition of "Making a Vow to Court, Serve and Marry the Earth." This rite of devotion to the preservation and protection of the environment and wilderness, the planet and the people, is about the human Embodiment of the Natural World we protect. Participants by the thousances join these rituals to embody and commit to Earth Archetypes and the Personhood of Earth Rights. They Become the Myth and Live the Healing Story which is practiced at the week-long festival call VINOTOK which Marcie founded with the Elders in her community over 3 decades ago. Vinotok is an All-Community series of rituals with thousands of people attending and Re-Commiting to the Earth. Marcie continues to co-produce this 35-year Annual week-long festival of over 30 different ceremonies which has been widely internationally-acclaimed and is the seminal influence for such later Earth-honoring events as Burning Man.
Marcie is considered an elder and High Priestess of her Colorado mountain valley and is the Founding Director of Earth Wisdom Institute and the Earth Wisdom Mystery School and Order of International Secular Ministers. These educational and spiritual programs help individuals prepare for an Earth Honoring Ministry which offers ordination and certification allowing participants to become officiants and celebrants of a wide range of ceremonies, including HandFasting rituals, legal marriages, Marrying the Earth rituals and much more. For 43 years she has offered a private and group holistic psychotherapy practice and retreat center for individuals and groups on a secret island called Wise Acre, in the Rocky Mountain West. She is a TedXTalk presenter on "Transforming Community"- Through Celebration of Place Spirit Rituals. She has appeared on numerous podcasts, including "Finding NowHERE" on creating personal life-Rituals for Being Present in the Moment. She is the author of essays and poetry in the award-winning collection- RITUAL AND HEALING and is the author of ACTING UP! an internationally recognized text on Story Theatre and Personal Stories Ritual.
